Introduction to ESG criteria

ESG, or Environment, Social and Governance, is an acronym that summarizes three key areas of corporate sustainability. These criteria assess a company’s performance in terms of environmental impact, social responsibility and corporate governance.

  • Environmental: This dimension assesses how a company manages its natural
resources, reduces its carbon footprint, and engages in sustainable practices to preserve the ecosystem.
  • Social: The social aspect looks at employee relations, diversity and inclusion practices, responsibility towards local communities, and respect for human rights.
  • Governance: Corporate governance concerns corporate structure, transparency, ethics, and the accountability of management bodies to shareholders.

A sound ESG approach is essential for companies concerned about their impact on society and the environment, as well as for investors.
